Gyokuro is considered one of the finest green teas in Japan. During the last two weeks before the harvest, the tea bushes are covered to stress the plant to produce high levels of chlorophyll and beautiful green leaves. After harvesting, the leaves are steamed to lock in the green color.
Steeping the tea produces a umami flavor and a unique sweetness. This gyokuro is produced in Fukuoka in the southern part of Japan.

Steep time: 3-4 minutes
Suggested serving size: 1.5 tsp/8oz of water
