Tea Update for Summer 2020
Posted by Amy R at
First the good news: you can enjoy the 2020 Dragonwell green tea and many other Chinese teas at home or as to-go drinks in the shop. We're also well stocked on Japanese teas including the popular Sencha Fukamushi and matcha varieties. And you can choose from a full menu of summer teas and herbal blends.
We've also been busy sourcing new and unusual blends for you from Black owned tea companies in the Pacific Northwest. The first one to debut is Peachy Thyme, a fruity herbal blend with notes of peaches, thyme and jasmine on a base of green rooibos. This delicious blend is the creation of Chantel Jackson, owner of Thyme Well Spent. Peachy Thyme is available in the August Tea Club and to order at the shop for a to-go hot or iced tea.
Sadly, the 2020 Darjeeling 1st Flush is arriving late this year. The shipment in now on its way to our shop and you can order it here. We're also monitoring the availability of other Indian teas as the spring harvest was affected by the coronavirus shutdown, and there are long delays at the Indian harbors. A couple of other popular teas, Blueberry Fields and Korean Sejak, are experiencing shipment delays as well. We hope to have good news soon and will let you know when these teas are available.
